First things first, Contrast Ratio by and large is a con.
Unless your room is totally dark it's not the deal breaker some manufacturers try to make it out to be. They actually contradict their own arguments when pushed on the subject. We cover this in more depth in Projectors FAQ.
In the real life example below high contrast is wasted, you're far better off with higher brightness (ANSI Lumens).
