PT-LB1
Mini Review
We thought we'd show you how good this projector is under the sort of conditions you may be using it.
If you're going for a budget projector you may decide to try your luck on a wall or blind rather than buy a projection screen.
All images below are projected on a normal pull down blind during the day!
If you read our review on contrast ratio you'll discover the more light in the room the less you need a projector with high contrast and the main feature you'll need is brightness.
In such a small size the PT-LB1 pack a fair amount of ANSI lumens AKA brightness.
For Scale, images are actual.
Note bar stool on right and daylight between blinds.

Actual Image, same blind same time..

Actual Image, same blind same time..

So for what some charge for a lamp you can purchase a great little projector for business and home.
Panasonic employs a number of advanced technologies, including a proprietary lamp drive system, that help maintain lamp performance.
This has resulted in a 5,000-hour lamp replacement cycle. It helps saving operating cost by providing longer usage between lamp replacements.

iF Product Design - 2011
The Panasonic PT-LB2/LB1 compact LCD projector has received the iF Product Design Award 2011. |
Panasonic's Daylight View Basic technology achieves sharp, easy-to-see images by clearly reproducing the details in dark image areas, which were previously difficult to see in brightly lit rooms. A built-in sensor measures the ambient light, and the Daylight View Basic function adjusts the halftone color and brightness level according to the surrounding illumination.
A web browser on a computer connected through a wired LAN system lets you remotely operate projectors and check their status. An e-mail messaging function can also notify you when a lamp needs replacement, and indicate the overall projector status. In addition, Multi Projector Monitoring and Control Software is included for monitoring and controlling multiple Panasonic projectors from a single PC.
The compact, lightweight body makes it easy to move the projector from one room to another. Auto Signal Search automatically detects what kind of source is connected and begins projection. With Real-Time Keystone Correction, the projector automatically senses if you adjust its angle (in the vertical direction) during operation and instantly makes whatever keystone correction is necessary for optimal viewing.

The cost effective PT-LB1 and LB2 projectors have been designed to offer professional performance at a competitive price. The new LB1 and LB2 models offer a lamp life of 5000 hours in low mode operation and 3000 hours at normal operation, in low mode providing the longest lamp lifespan for any projector in the models’ class.
Both projectors feature a broad range of inputs, XGA (1024x768) resolution, a contrast ratio of 500:1, the LB1 has a brightness of 2,200 lm and the LB2 offers 2,600lm. In addition both models incorporate daylight view technology, an ambient light sensor that detects the amount of ambient light in a room and auto adjusts the brightness to suit.
Christian Sokcevic, GM Sales & Marketing for Panasonic Projectors said: “We haven’t offered such compact and lightweight projectors for the past few years, so by extending our LB range we’re now able to cater for a wider section of the entry-level commercial market. The new models offer high performance, less maintenance thanks to our dust resistant design and eco-friendly credentials in the shape of an EUP Lot6 Compliant 0.4Watt stand-by mode and high efficiency cooling system. These new projectors are a convincing way to provide an even more rounded solution to our customers.”
The new models offer a range of innovations designed to make the projectors well suited to end users that require convenience and ease of use. The plug and play functionality extends to integration, both projectors offer RS232C protocol emulation which ensures that no reprogramming is required when replacing older Panasonic units or 400 popular models from other manufacturers. Network compatibility is managed through a standard wired PJLink to enable web browser control.
