Up until now, buying an A3 multifunction printer meant shelling out big bucks first, and having a giant machine taking up space in the office second. For the relatively small amount of A3 pages most businesses print, having an A3MFP can be hard to justify. Enter the OKI MC860:

Coming in at RRP $8276, the MC860 is well under the cost of other A3 MFPs, and its small size lets it take up little more space than an A4 MFP, meaning that it can sit beside, or even on top of a desk. Part of the reason that the OKI can have such a low price, is that instead of having hundreds of options, almost everything in the MC860 comes as standard:

And a 50-sheet reverse automatic document feeder In fact, basically the only things that are optional on the MC860 are the number of paper trays. Standard is for one 300 sheet paper tray, and one 100 sheet multipurpose tray, but for a few hundred more you can upgrade to an additional 530 sheet paper tray, and floor standing cabinet. Or two more paper trays and a smaller cabinet (pictured right).

This adds to the versatility of the unit by allowing you to customise its size to fit into any workspace. One reason the OKI stands out from other A3MFPs is that it utilises OKI’s new digital LED technology (left), which allows it to use a straighter paper path. This in turn allows the OKI to make use of oversized media to print things like banners or posters.

Occasionally with lower priced printers we find that the price for the consumables can be quite high, thankfully once again the 860 is the exception to the rule, with black and white printing coming in at about 2.7c per page, and colour at about 15.2c per page (by our consumable pricing).

As far as speed goes, the OKI can keep up with the rest with output speeds of up to 26 ppm colour and 34 ppm mono.
